Lyndsay Roy has always had a passion for working with children, particularly children with special needs. Starting out as a babysitter and camp counselor in high school, Lyndsay has been working with children for much of her life leading to a professional career of over twelve years in early childhood education. Working as a Teaching Assistant in a special education preschool classroom, Lyndsay earned her degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology along with her Teaching Certification for Students with Speech, Hearing, and Language Disorders from Marymount Manhattan College. She then moved into the field of Early Intervention and CPSE, providing Special Instruction Services for children from birth through age five, both in the classroom setting and at home, in New York City and Westchester County. Lyndsay is trained in Verbal Behavior Applied Behavioral Analysis and has years of experience working with children diagnosed with Spectrum Disorder. After taking time to start a family, including two Mt. Airy students of her own, Lyndsay is happy to be a part of the Mt. Airy team. In addition to working as the head threes teacher in the classroom, Lyndsay is also in charge of our social/emotional curriculum as well as the Mt. Airy Gives Back community service initiative dedicated to providing opportunities for our young children to engage in the spirit of giving back to their community.
