Below is a sample of a typical day at Mt. Airy Nursery School. Morning classes are for students ages 2.5 to 5. Afternoon classes are for children ages 3 to 5.
8:45-9:00am – Children arrive & Free Play
9:10am – Morning Circle (conducted in English or French) – greeting the class, calendar work, counting the students, and the Lesson of the Day (demonstration of a material for class use or a lesson/game in math, science, language, cooperation, social skills, etc.)
9:40am – Bathroom Break
9:50am – Small Group Activities (academic lessons divided by age/ability group) & Special Classes (music, art, dance.)
10:35am – Free Play
11:00am – Snack (provided by the school) & Bathroom Break
11:15am – Morning Story Time (Show and Tell on Fridays)
11:40am-12:00pm – Outside Play for Morning Students (weather permitting)
11:45am-12:00pm – Dismissal of Morning Students & Drop Off for Afternoon Students
12:00pm-12:20pm – Outside Play for Afternoon Students (weather permitting)
12:30pm – Lunch (provided by each parent for their own child)
1:15pm – Enrichment Activities, Small Group Activities (academic lessons divided by age/ability group), & Free Play
2:30pm – Afternoon Story Time
2:45-3:00pm – Dismissal of Afternoon Students
